Terms of Service
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Welcome to Meridian. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Meridian website, web application, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. By using Meridian you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. We are not liable for loss arising from a failure to keep your credentials secure.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to the notes, databases, whiteboards, journal entries, and files you create in the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us only the limited licence needed to store, process, back up, and display Your Content back to you so the Service can operate. We claim no ownership over it.
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to any material you upload. You can export Your Content at any time from Settings → Export.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.
- Upload malware or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service, including by overwhelming it with automated requests.
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission.
5. Early access and availability
Meridian is in active development and is currently offered free of charge. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the Service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Should paid plans be introduced in future, we will give existing users notice before any charge applies.
6. Backups
We take reasonable steps to back up the Service, but you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you. The export feature exists for exactly this purpose and we encourage you to use it.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we are required to by law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we will delete your data in line with our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continuing to use Meridian after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
